I will dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
